#ourseasonwithliteville: Rainer’s Liteville 301 MK14 Enduro bike

My Liteville 301 build is my favourite to date. Every aspect of the bike screams for shredding!

Hey everyone! This season I am once again riding a Liteville 301 and because I am absolutely in love with it, I thought I would share it with you. Also remember to stay tuned into my season via #ourseasonwithliteville.

Choosing the frame

I have spent many hours riding both the 301 MK10 & MK12. Because I have always been super happy riding a 301, choosing the newest MK14 model was an easy decision. Overall, the frame matches my riding style exactly with 160 mm of travel and can be used for everything from Enduro races to bike park jam sessions.

Frame features

Unlike earlier models of the 301, the MK14 sticks with 27.5” wheels both front and rear. The cable housing is also now run internally, cleaning up the frame quite a bit. However, the most interesting feature of the frame is the EIGHTPINS integrated dropper post. Depending on the frame size, the post offer 220 mm of travel while operating smooth and stiff. Because of the post, the seat tube of the frame is moved forward to shorten the chainstays even more. The dropper post adjusts for the seat tube position with setback. The reach of the 301 has also been increased, giving it a more Enduro geometry overall.

The EIGHTPINS offers plenty of travel and integrates into the bike very well.

The suspension

When looking for a fork, I quickly decided on the top quality Fox 36 Factory. The combination of control and feedback with stiff damping is hard to find in a fork, but the 36 does it great. The rear shock is a RockShox Deluxe RCT3 with Trunnion mounts, which allows for more travel. I adjusted the RCT3 with volume spacers so that there is more progression at the end of the stroke. Perfect for harder riding.

The drivetrain

I outfitted my silver bullet with a complete SRAM X01 Eagle groupset. With its 500% of range, it offers the right gearing to get me up and down any mountain. It’s also the perfect combination between performance and lightweight as well as just looking good. The carbon cranks come with a 32 tooth chainring, but I will soon switch it out for 34 to get a little more out of the lower end.

The brakes

When it’s time to slow things down, the Magura MT Trail Carbon disc brakes come into action. I run the front with 4 pistons and 2 in the rear. Weighing in at 82 kg, I don’t need the stopping power of 4 pistons out back.

Both lightweight and powerful, the MT Trail Carbon brakes are perfect for Enduro riding.

For me, a two piston caliper in the back has plenty of stopping power.

The wheels

After riding Syntace c33i carbon wheels all last year, I also had to put a set in my new 301. Such a stiff wheel, with a 33 mm internal width and only weighing 1600 g is hard to find. To spice up the bike a bit, I used Onza IBEX 2.4” Enduro tyres with a skinwall.

Stiff and carbon, the Syntace c33i wheels are strong enough for Enduro and light enough for racing.

The final touches

The handlebars, Vector Carbon, and stem, MegaForce2, are also from Syntace and the saddle is the Ergon SME3 Titanium. I opted for Troy Lee Designs grips and to keep my feet on the bike, OneUp Components Aluminium flats.

A fine bike

I am really in love with this bike and I’m really into the entire build. I can’t wait to continue the season and put everything on it to the test.
