Review: the milKit Tubeless Booster
Ever had trouble mounting tubeless tyres? Well get ahold of milKit’s Tubeless Booster and make seating tyres an easy affair.

Riding tubeless has its advantages like running lower tyre pressures, which results in more grip. Small punctures and snake bites are also no longer a problem. However, setting up a tubeless system isn’t without its own issues.
When installing a tubeless tyre, the tyre beads have to be pressed by air into rim. Doing this with a floor or mini-pump is almost impossible because you need an ‘explosive’ amount of air. With the help of Swiss company milKit’s Tubeless Booster Head, you can use any aluminium water bottle to seat your tubeless tyres.
We received a test version from milKit which differs from the final production version in that it is black and has instructions printed on the bottle. Besides this, the function is the same.
Mounting tubeless with a normal pump is just impossible.
The idea
- Using the milKit Tubeless Booster Head is pretty simple.
- First, screw the Head onto milKit’s or your own aluminium bottle.
- Attach your pump to the Presta Valve of the Booster Head.
- Pump up the bottle (max. 11 bar).
- Open the tubeless valve on the wheel and press the Head / bottle onto the valve.
- Now, air from the bottle will push the tyre beads into the rim.
First, screw the Tubeless Booster head to the aluminium bottle.
Now, the bottle can be filled with air.
The bottle can take up to 11 bar, but 8 was enough for this test.
The booster head can now be pressed onto the valve.
After the tyre had beaded, use a normal pump to get to your desired pressure.
The test
When I used the Tubeless Booster it worked easily and without issue. I tested the system with their 1 litre aluminium bottle and even though I could have pumped it up to 11 bars, I only need 8 to get my 2.6” tyre to seat.
If you are having trouble getting the tyre bead to seat even when using the milKit Head, just remove the tubeless valve core. Without it, air moves much more quickly into the tyre, helped seat the bead. After, the tyre can be pumped up normally.

Final thoughts
milKit knocked it out of the park with their Tubeless Booster Head. They offer the Head with bottle (0.6 litre or 1.0 litre) or without. So if you already have an aluminium water bottle, there is no need to buy another. The milKit Tubeless Booster allows anyone to mount tubeless tyres right at home without the need for CO2 cartridges or a compressor. Perfect for the home mechanic.
