Impressions of the 2017 24h of Rad am Ring
Each summer, the 24 hours of Rad am Ring form a highlight of bike-component’s race calendar. Check out the pictures of the 2017 event.
This year, bike-components entered the 24 hours of Rad am Ring on the legendary Formula One Grand Prix race circuit in full force. A total of 36 riders took part in the different race formats on and off road.
We had a great time, the weather held up and the 24 hour fight around the 25km loop including 580 vertical meters of climbing always writes its own stories.
"I will always remember this weekend. It was an epic battle between the three of us in the 24h solo challenge. The atmosphere is indescribable and Team bc rocked it again. I’m already looking forward to next year."
Manuel, Personalmanagement
"It was a tight race, but I’m glad I peaked at the right time to win the 24h solo challenge.”
Basti, Einkauf
“The 24h solo challenge on this legendary race track was a great opportunity to test my limits. Racing against my co-workers was a great experience. In the end, we were there as one big team and I will take this experience as a lasting memory home with me.”
Björn, Produktmanagement
“This was my first cycling event ever. I had a ball with my 4-rider team and all the other riders. Awesome!”
Felix, Logistik
“The bc MTB Bike Marathon was one of my tougher races this year. The 75km and 2000 vertical meters of climbing made me go to my limits. Great to take the win home with the whole bc crew present.”
Theresia
“Not a lot of sleep, very windy, a great atmosphere, cramping legs, all that and much more are the 24h of Rad am Ring. It’s great event. I will repeat!”

Thorsten
“The long climb up the “Hohe Acht“ is my nemesis. It’s an epic battle between the climb and me. There is never a final victor. We’ll take it up again next year.”
Benjamin, Einkauf
“Would you ask me wether it’s a good idea to go down a mountain at 85 km/h at 5 am in the dark without sleep and on 23mm wide tyres, I would say NO. However, if you ask whether I’ll be back next year, YES.”
Christian, Service
“I simply wanted to get through this and not throw in the towel. The rewarding feeling was worth the struggle. It’s a great experience. You’ll have me at the starting line again next year.”
Sabrina, Artikeleingabe
“You get very little sleep, but the great team spirit makes up for that. There is a special bond between all the riders, especially at night. The 24h hours of Rad am Ring are a special experience!”

Amin
"An epic event that sent goosebumps down my skin."

“I usually ride Enduro. This was my first time in a road race. At 2 am, riding uphill through the dark, I had time to ask myself why I’m doing it. It’s that big smile on your face when you made it!”

“A new experience for me. I’ll be back next year.”
Stefan
“Once again, it was a tough race, but we had an awesome time. Definitely the highlight of my 2017 season. A big shout to the Maloja Pushbiker girls. Thanks for your support and see you in 2018.”
Patrick, Purchasing
“Every year, the 24h of Rad am Ring get bigger for bc. This year we had a record number of 36 participants and we were also involved with the event itself as a sponsor. No chance for me to ride, but making sure the whole thing came together was rewarding in itself. The many hours of preparation paid off.”
Sascha, Event Manager
We want to thank Lupine for providing helmet lights. When you hit 90 km/h going down in a mountain in pitch darkness, it’s great to be able to count on premium lights.
Also a big shout across the pond to QUARQ for providing live tracking for our solo challenge.
Finally thank you to Sportograf for proving us with great race imagery.
We will be back in 2018!
