Almighty power, but not the best modulation

It takes a good amount of time to set them up until they really feel right, but when they're set up right... holy wow does it have power! (I'm using an alhonga drop bar lever and 180mm Shimano SM-RT56 rotor on 26" wheels)
In fact, it seems to have more power than my Hope mono M4 front brake on a 203mm rotor, also on 26" wheels, but that also gives it much less modulation.
It's so powerful, it can make my super grippy Schwalbe big apple tyres scream and my Surly long haul trucker fork flex if I lean back far enough to not be ejected from the saddle.
I used to think mechanical disc brakes were lacking in power, but it seems I'm totally wrong when it comes to these.
