The Scirocco wheel takes its name from the hot and fierce wind from the Sahara, whose speed it mimics. The Scirocco combines many technological solutions that make it a real racing wheel, but for every cyclist at a more than reasonable price. The aerodynamics and construction methods usually reserved for carbon fibre wheels, combined with technologies such as Mega G3™ and the internal support plates of the nipples, create a wheel with a value that is significantly higher than that of any other product in its class.

Dynamic Balance™
The concept is simple and ingenious: balance the mass of the rim joint with an equivalent mass positioned exactly on the other side of the rim. In top-of-the-range aluminium models, this is achieved by special machining in the area opposite the rim joint(Rim Dynamic Balance™ = RDB).

MoMag™
A magnet and a lot of expertise. This is how the patent of the tested " Mounting Magnet" system, i.e. MoMag™, came to be. How does it work? After the nipples have been inserted into the rim via the valve opening, they are " guided" to the connection point with the rim using a magnet. With this simple and ingenious system, you get a wheel with no holes on the upper rim, but with conventional nipples for lacing! Advantages: no drilling in the rim bed, which means a consistently even rim without critical points or fractures, and no rim tape is necessary for wired tyres, which has a positive effect on the weight. The advantages are immediately obvious: longer rim durability, higher resistance to fatigue, possibility of tighter tensioning of the spokes and greater stiffness; in terms of performance, this means higher reactivity and acceleration. What's more: Replacing and maintaining spokes becomes extremely simple and fast. All to the benefit of the cyclist who has chosen Campagnolo.

Mega-G3™
Campagnolo developed a lacing pattern that, compared to a conventional wheel, allows improved energy transfer, reduces the stress on the spokes on the right side of the rear wheel and increases lateral stiffness. In G3™ geometry, the right side of the rear wheel has twice the number of spokes compared to the left side.
The advantages of the G3™ system are astonishing: better power transfer, greater lateral rigidity and reduction of spoke tension on the rear wheel. Thanks to the G3™ system, which compensates for the forces acting on the two sides of the wheel, vibrations are eliminated even for people with heavier weights. G3™ becomes Mega-G3™ thanks to the oversize flange. This solution further increases the torsional stiffness and thus improves the overall responsiveness of the wheel.

Fährt sich sehr gut, die Verarbeitung ist top, das angegebene Gewicht von 1693 g stimmt nicht, der Laufradsatz wiegt ca. 250 g mehr!

Meiner Meinung nach sind die Laufräder ein Preis-Leistungskracher. Durch die hohe Felge leider nicht die leichtesten, dafür aber bocksteif und enorm robust. Ich fahre den LRS mittlerweile seit ca 10.000 km und nun macht sich ein minimales Lagerspiel im HR bemerkbar (mein Kampfgewicht ca. 90 kg, zeitweise 105 kg), die Lager lassen sich aber mit etwas handwerklichen Geschick leicht asutreiben und durch neue Rillenkugellager ersetzen (Einzelpreis etwa 1,-€).
Dafür haben die Räder in dieser Brevetsaison mehrfach wegen Übermüdung frontalen Kontakt mit nicht abgesenkten Bordsteinen gehabt, bzw. ein Schlagloch, welches meinen Vorderreifen schlagartig zerplatzen ließ - nach dem Schlagloch musste ich erstmalig das Vorderrad nachzentrieren (Seitenschlag war aber noch immer im Bereich von ca 1mm).
Von meiner Seite also bezüglich Haltbarkeit uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen, obwohl ich das angeblich zulässige Systemgewicht bei meinen ersten Brevets dieses Jahr weit überschritten hatte.
