The special UT-CN300 tool is required for fitting the Chorus and Record 11 Speed chains with Ultra-Link™ technology from Campagnolo. The thickness of these Campagnolo chains is only 5.5 mm, but the de-riveting resistance is extremely high thanks to Ultra-Link™ technology. Therefore, closing is only possible with the Campagnolo UT-CN300 chain tool. Only the correct use of this tool guarantees the riveting of the CN-RE500 locking pin. Without this riveting by means of Campagnolo's UT-CN300 chain riveter, the pin can come loose from the link, causing the chain to open automatically with the corresponding consequences and endangering the user.
