This Optimized Headset Design (OHD) bearing kit by CeramicSpeed includes the two headset bearings for the Tarmac SL7 and Allez Sprint road bikes by Specialized. Thanks to an integrated polymer matrix that supplies the bearing balls with oil, the so-called SLT technology, constant lubrication is guaranteed. The bearings therefore do not require maintenance and function reliably, even under the most adverse conditions. Stainless steel balls and races also ensure perfect corrosion resistance.

Technology:

Solid Lubrication Technology (SLT)
CeramicSpeed's Optimised Headset Design (OHD) and Optimised Pivot Design (OPD) bearings use SLT technology. This involves injecting oil lubricant and a still-liquid plastic polymer into the bearings, where the polymer hardens around the balls and forms micropores. The oil escapes through these as soon as the bearing balls move, so that they are continuously and evenly lubricated. This technology is particularly relevant for bearings that do not rotate through 360°, but rather oscillate, as it were, such as frame and headset bearings. Combined with the stainless steel used for the balls and treads, the result is bearings that do not require maintenance, are corrosion resistant and function perfectly for many years, even in adverse conditions and off-road use.
