On the basis of the activated silica compound, the company worked purposefully towards a compound technology in the Performance segment. The new rubber compound with the self-explanatory name " PureGrip" ranks behind the BlackChili compound and is used in performance products in the race and mountain bike segments. ShieldWall System
The ShieldWall system combines high puncture protection and the best smooth rolling with low weight. This is made possible by an additional, all-round puncture protection layer consisting of a finely woven cross fabric. This gives the tyre high resistance to punctures and damage. Despite the extra layer, the tyre has very good damping properties and a pronounced flexibility to adapt perfectly to the ground. Another feature of the ShieldWall system is its tubeless-ready capability. The revolutionary tubeless-ready foot makes mounting the tyre easy and uncomplicated. For optimum sealing and application results Continental recommends using RevoSealant sealant.
