DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT 50 Carbon Center Lock Disc 28" wheelset - improved aerodynamics

The ARC 1100 DICUT wheelset from DT Swiss gives your road bike improved aerodynamics. The carbon rim has been redesigned, resulting in an increased rim inner width. Consequently, more comfortable tyre widths of 25 to 28 mm can be ridden on aero or time trial bikes without increasing the rolling resistance. With a 50 mm rim depth the air resistance from the front is low. You also benefit from a light sailing effect during crosswinds. Optimum steering control is achieved by using the streamlined 180 hub and the new Aerolite II spokes, as the drag created by the wheels is reduced. The Aerolite II straight pull spokes are flat forged and sit securely in the hub with a T-shaped spoke head. The freehub is a Ratchet EXP freehub with 36 teeth. Idling at the start is kept to a minimum, and leg power is immediately converted into propulsion.

SINC
Robust steel bearing rings are combined with ceramic balls. This means that the rolling resistance is low. The rolling resistance is further reduced by the seal on the outside and a protective ring on the inside. Furthermore, the combination of materials prevents corrosion between the ring and balls. This increases the durability of the ball bearings.

Ratchet EXP
A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. In addition, the heavy-duty and reliable ratchet system can be easily and quickly maintained. The no-tool concept plays a decisive role, as it allows the freehub to be replaced without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.

Pro Lock
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.
