DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT 50 Carbon Disc Centre Lock 28" wheelset - aerodynamics for the road bike

With the ARC 1400 DICUT wheelset from DT Swiss, you can make your racing, aero or time trial bike even more aerodynamic. Due to the redesign of the 50 mm deep DICUT carbon rim, the wider and more comfortable 25 to 28 mm tyres can also be used on the road bike. The rolling resistance remains as low as usual. The new, more streamlined 240 hub is combined with newly developed Aero Comp II straight pull spokes with T-shaped spoke heads. This contributes to the stability of the entire system. The frontal drag is low and in crosswinds you benefit from a light sailing effect. The advanced Ratchet EXP freehub reduces idle pedalling through direct power transmission, so that your leg power is converted into propulsion with as little loss as possible.

Ratchet EXP
A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. In addition, the heavy-duty and reliable ratchet system can be easily and quickly maintained. The no-tool concept plays a decisive role, as it allows the freehub to be replaced without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.

Pro Lock
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.
