Warum kauf man sich einen Freilauf aus Stahl, wenn im Lieferumfang des Laufrades der vermeintlich bessere, weil leichtere, Freilauf aus Aluminium bereits enthalten ist? Weil das Alu zu weich ist. Im XCO Rennbetrieb ist es uns mehrfach passiert, dass die Kassette (Shimano XT, XTR) durch das (Antritts-) Drehmoment tiefe Furchen in die Aufnahme des Alufreilaufs 'gerissen' hat. Die Demontage klappt dann nur noch mit dem Gummihammer. Schlimmer ist aber, dass die Kassette dann irgendwann nicht mehr gerade auf dem Freilaufkörper sitzt, sondern sich axial verzieht. Dieses Phänomen hatten wir bisher nur bei Alufreilaufkörpern von DT Swiss...
