Optimal chain hold: the Direct Mount Chainrings by Easton

Easton Direct Mount chainrings feature the Narrow Wide design but have been specifically optimised for road, cyclocross and gravel use. The profile of the individual teeth is no longer traditionally symmetrical, but rather directional to help the chain hold more firmly. Material was removed from the wide chainring teeth to minimise noise and friction. Further material reduction also favours self-cleaning, which is beneficial for use in muddy CX environments. The Cinch Direct Mount system also provides significant weight savings by avoiding material overlap and eliminating the need for additional hardware as with traditional spider chainring configurations.
