Anatomically correct design: the GC1 BioKork handlebar grips by Ergon

The cork version of the handlebar grip for touring handlebars that are bent backwards. The grip body is made of 40% cork. All parts of the handle are consistently manufactured with ecological sustainability in mind. In the inner grip, 40% of the plastic is replaced by grass fibres. The handle clamp is made of 100% recyclable aluminium. The BioKork handle is the result of Ergon's GreenLab initiative.

Performance Comfort
Ergon grips of the Performance Comfort series provide effective relief for numb fingers, aching hands and forearms - problems that many bikers are familiar with. The causes of these complaints are excessive pressure on particularly sensitive areas of the palm and possible malpositioning of the hand. Thanks to the anatomically-optimal shape, Ergon grips provide 100% contact surface compared to conventional round grips, which only offer a contact surface of approx. 60%. Therefore, the pressure is significantly lower, especially in the area of the ulnar nerve, and it is almost impossible for the hands to fall asleep. The anatomical shape of the Ergon GP series further ensures correction of the hand position in all directions of movement. If the grip is correctly adjusted, the hand cannot be misaligned. Overloading of the median nerve (leading to carpal tunnel syndrome) is eliminated and wrist pain is prevented.

GreenLab
The GreenLab Initiative prioritises ergonomic development with the aim of putting forth products that combine aspects of ergonomics, performance and environmental sustainability. The GreenLab Initiative has played a particularly important role in Ergon's development process, and has led to important product innovations. All packaging for the extensive Ergon grip series was developed from scratch.
Top priorties in specifications include aspects such as the lowest possible use of materials, a high degree of use for recycled materials, a high degree of ecological sustainability in used materials and a high recyclability factor. As a result, the packaging is so innovative that it has already been awarded the DesignPlus packaging prize. Ergon GreenLab also created the GP1 BioKork grip, further setting the standard, with materials and production processes representing state-of-the-art advances in this field.
