Consistent, with plenty of style, no compromises: the Racing 3 C17 Wheelset by Fulcrum

The Racing 3 is a wheelset for cyclists who use it for training rides without sacrificing quality, or for passionate cyclists who love kilometre-long rides and want to count on the versatility and comfort that aluminium construction with steel spokes brings. The re-milled rim reduces the weight and makes the wheel extremely responsive.

Technology:

2:1 Two-to-One™
At the moment when the rider pedals at full power, the rotation of the cassette causes the spokes on the freehub side to give way, resulting in a loss of rim tension. This causes excessive bending of the whole and this inevitably means a loss of energy. Fulcrum has solved this classic problem in cycling with its 2:1 Two-to-One Spoke Ratio patent, that is, with twice the number of spokes in critical areas. In this way, two spokes take over the task of one, the yielding and twisting of the wheel remains low and the transmission of the athlete's energy becomes much more efficient. Thanks to this patent, the spoke tensions are more balanced and the fatigue strength of rim, hub and spokes is much higher.

MoMag™
A magnet and a lot of expertise. This is how the patent of the tested " Mounting Magnet" system, i.e. MoMag™, came to be. How does it work? After the nipples have been inserted into the rim via the valve opening, they are " guided" to the connection point with the rim using a magnet. With this simple and ingenious system, you get a wheel with no holes on the upper rim, but with conventional nipples for lacing! Advantages: no drilling in the rim bed, which means a consistently even rim without critical points or fractures, and no rim tape is necessary for wired tyres, which has a positive effect on the weight. The advantages are immediately obvious: longer rim durability, higher resistance to fatigue, possibility of tighter tensioning of the spokes and greater stiffness; in terms of performance, this means higher reactivity and acceleration. What's more: Replacing and maintaining spokes becomes extremely simple and fast. All to the benefit of the cyclist who has chosen Campagnolo.

DRSC™
Directionated Rim-Spoke Coupling. Exclusive rim/spoke connection system. In this way, the rim, spokes, nipples and hub are matched to each other, and the same tension value is achieved at every point. All critical areas of increased voltage are eliminated.

Dynamic Balance™
The concept is simple and ingenious: balance the mass of the rim joint with an equivalent mass positioned exactly on the other side of the rim. On the top-of-the-range models, this is achieved by special machining in the area opposite the rim joint. The result is a wheel that is perfectly balanced during rotation.

Spokes anti-rotation system™
Some Campagnolo wheels feature the anti-spin system for spokes patented by Campagnolo. This system increases the performance of the spokes to an unprecedented level. Campagnolo engineers have redesigned the interface between spokes and hubs from the ground up, creating a connection system that keeps the spokes in the same position at all times. In this way the spokes of Campagnolo wheels do not rotate, do not lose tension in use and do not compromise aerodynamics.

Da hätte ich was besseres erwartet.
