The Blaze MTB Shoes by Giro are a shoe and shoe cover in one

The Blaze clipless shoes by Giro ensure that you are well-prepared for winter conditions on your MTB or gravel bike. Lined with high-pile fleece, they have been combined with softshell shoe covers. The shoes' Quick-Lace lacing system is covered by a water-repellent zipper with a windbreak on the inside, so that your feet are protected from piercing cold winds. Primaloft insulation keeps you warm even in sub-zero temperatures, and a soft fleece footbed provides additional warmth and comfort. The insole is made of aluminium, which reflects your body's temperature to keep feet warm, without letting heat escape to the outside. Blaze shoes are also breathable, guaranteeing a pleasant and comfortable climate around the foot. Since warm feet alone are not enough to combat winter conditions, the outsole has been equipped with an Ice-Grip tread that not only provides secure grip on uneven terrain, but also on frozen ground and in the snow. Since your ankles are more sensitive in cold weather, the shoe covers have been padded in this area to protect you from grazing branches, and the toe and heel areas have been rubberised to protect from unwanted abrasions. In addition, large reflective elements have been placed along the sides and on the heels to increase your visibility in dim winter weather.

fit and size is normal, heel grip excellent. inner shoe is low and sporty, more or less like a road shoe, so no added stability, insulation or protection over the ancles. would say these are for rainy days in the summer more than for winter.

for that i have giro alpineduro and an old pair of mt90.

sole seems stable enough, and first impression is tougher quality than the very fragile sole of the alpineduros.

Klasse Schuh!

Response from bike-components on 10.01.2022:
