Technology:

Hydrogel:
The carbohydrates are encapsulated by the hydrogel on contact with stomach acid. This allows them to pass through the stomach without causing discomfort and quickly reach the intestines where the energy can be absorbed by the body. Normally, gastric emptying slows down as soon as the carbohydrate concentration of drinks exceeds a certain level. This restricts the supply of fluid and carbohydrates to the body, causing stomach upset. Hydrogel technology helps to circumvent this problem.
