Maxxis Ravager Dual SilkShield TR 28" folding tyre is a gravel tyre for riders who dare to go on harder trails with their road handlebars and bit of rubber. While other tyres are designed just to keep you going when the road ends, the Ravager opens up new routes where there has never been a road before. Pronounced angular centre lugs provide traction on soft trails and large side lugs keep you and your gear on the bike.

Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.

For the Dual Compound, two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned individually according to the desired properties of Maxxis tyres.

SilkShield
SilkShield provides Silkworm protection all around, from rim to rim, preventing cuts and other defects on the tyre sidewalls and under the tread.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other " tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.

Carbon Fibre Bead Core
For tubeless road bike tyres, special bead cores must be used to keep the tyre on the rim without a tube and at very high pressure. Maxxis has developed carbon bead cores for this purpose.
