More volume for even more fun off-road: the Rekon Folding Tyre by Maxxis

The Rekon 2.6 is a high-volume tyre that you can use for daily touring, in the woods and for all-mountain shredding, but can also detour into rougher terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed to be ridden tubeless with sealant, but can of course also be ridden with a tube. Maxxis recommends the Rekon primarily on the rear wheel, which is best combined with a 2.6 Forekaster on the front, but is also fine with coarser treads.

Note from the manufacturer:
Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.

Guidelines for replacing E-bike components:

Technology:

3C MaxxTerra
At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.
The Freeride version of Maxxis 3C compounds. More grip and traction than the 3C MaxxSpeed compound, with less rolling resistance and longer durability than 3C MaxxGrip. The ideal Enduro and Freeride mixture, because it combines good rolling resistance uphill with great grip on the descent.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various Maxxis MTB tyres. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other " tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.
