Maxxis Rekon 3c MaxxSpeed EXO TR 29" Folding Tyre
Versatile: the Rekon folding tyre by Maxxis
You can use the Rekon for your daily tour, on exciting forest runs and all mountain shredding, but also for detours into rough terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed to be ridden tubeless with sealant, but can of course also be ridden with a tube. Maxxis recommends the Rekon primarily on the rear wheel, which is best combined with a Forekaster in the front, but tyres with more aggressive treads work as well.
Note from the manufacturer:
Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.

Technology:
3C MaxxSpeedAt Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.
Maxxis's fastest 3C compound, for XC and some All Mountain/Enduro tyres, was designed with a hard base and a fast compound in the middle of the tread to have the lowest rolling resistance. However, with the grippy compound along the sides of the tyre it also offers superior grip in corners, even in the wet. Its long durability is also a typical feature for Maxxis.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various Maxxis MTB tyres. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other " tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.
