OneUp Components Aluminium Platform Pedals
OneUp Components Aluminium Platform Pedals - low profile and service friendly
The OneUp Components Aluminium platform pedals convince with durability, weight and size. Their design has been thought through down to the smallest detail. They have a huge platform (115 x 105 mm), but are only 12 mm thick - on the edges only 8 mm. This makes it less likely that you will get stuck on obstacles. 10 steel pins on each side keep your foot on the pedal even the roughest trails. Maintenance is particularly easy with the OneUp Alu pedals: you only have to loosen a seal on the axle, then you can remove it with the help of a cassette tool.

Compatibility:
- All aluminium pedals with a code upwards of 5221 are fully compatible with SRAM carbon cranks with recessed pedal insert. Nevertheless, there are a few points to consider during installation (see below). Aluminium pedals with a code below 5221 are not compatible with SRAM carbon cranks.
- These pedals cannot easily be used with crank guards (crank boots) due to the large pedal bearings. You will first need to enlarge the hole in the middle of the boots. Please make sure that the pedal can rotate freely and does not come into contact with the crank guard.
Features:
- large platform for increased stability
- concave shape for more grip
- thin chamfered edges prevent pedal strikes
- easy to maintain thanks to the integrated bearing extractor
- a total of 40 hexagonal steel pins (exchangeable)
- pin to axle distance (PTA): 112 mm
Note from the Manufacturer:
- When mounting the crank, make sure that the pedal is able to rotate freely, that there is space between the pedal body and the crank and that the pedal is tightened to 35 Nm.
- New pedals show resistance when turning freely. This can be adjusted by adding or removing grease.
- When not installed, the pedals have minimal axial play, but this disappears upon completed installation on the crank.
Instructions for mounting aluminium pedals on carbon cranks from SRAM or Truvativ:
When tightening the pedals, make sure that the pedal body or the rubber washer do not come into contact with the crank before the axle has been tightened to 35 Nm. The pedal should be able to turn without much resistance and there should be a narrow gap between the pedal body and the crank. Should the pedal touch the crank before the axle is firmly seated, use an additional pedal washer to increase the distance. Do not use more than one additional washer. If your pedals rub against the crank or do not turn freely after being tightened, use with your carbon crank is not recommended.
