OneUp Components EDC V2 Threadless Carrier
The OneUp Components Threadless Carrier lets you easily stow the EDC V2 tool in the steerer tube
The Threadless Carrier is a container that allows you to transport the OneUp Components EDC V2 Tool in the steerer tube without having to cut a thread in it. It is mounted instead of the star nut and pre-tensions your headset via a bolt. In doing so, it creates space for the Everyday Carry V2 tool set, which consists of a multi-tool with 10 functions and a tyre lever/chain riveter combination tool. Even the smaller storage capsule, in which a tubeless plug kit with insertion tool and patches can be stowed, still finds its place.
The assembly of the Threadless Carrier can be done in 10 to 15 minutes. You just need to first make sure your fork has a long enough non-oval steerer tube and is not made of carbon. First, remove the star nut - a suitable M6 bolt that can be used in combination with a ratchet is included. To find out which of the four included installation bolts you need to use, measure the distance from the bottom of the fork crown to the top of the stem spacers, or the stem if you are not using spacers above the stem. Or you can use the indicator laser-etched on the container, starting from the 80 mm bolt.
When you have found the right bolt, insert it into the lower end cap. Now insert the whole thing from below into the steerer tube, while you insert the Threadless Carrier from above. Turn it clockwise with one hand while holding it from below with the other hand. Then insert the EDC V2 Tool into the container and align the lid so that the lettering runs horizontally. Now you just have to tighten the bolt at the bottom of the fork opening to tighten the whole thing. After that, nothing stands in the way of a ride, and you now always have the most important tools with you without having to carry a bag.
