Renthal has developed the Lock On Traction grips for extreme conditions and for those who want extra grip.

If you pull your hands back on the handlebars while riding, most of the grip and torque is concentrated in your fingers. The highlight here are the forward ribs that rise up when needed and offer the fingers more support. In normal riding conditions, the ribs lie flat, improving comfort.
Rear-facing angled grooves for the palms of the hands
When braking or on steep descents, most of the grip and torque is concentrated in the palms. Grooved cuts in the grip with a rearward angle give more grip in these situations and a larger surface area for the palms in normal riding conditions.
Consistent pattern
The grooves are evenly distributed across the width of the handle to allow you to grip every position with your hand while riding. Whether you grip with the centre or the heels of your hands over the end of the handle, the extra traction is just as effective.
Open handle end
When riding in extreme conditions, accidents are inevitable and may result in the grips becoming covered in mud. For this purpose, Renthal has developed the open end of the handle, which allows it to be cleaned.
Balancing material for the handle
For comfort and improved cushioning, the material in the palm area has been increased. Thinner material was used in the finger area to keep the same outer diameter everywhere.
