Rohloff OEM2 Support Bolt
IS mount, but no disc brake installed: the OEM2 Support Bolt by Rohloff
The support bolt for OEM2 axle plate mounting consists of an M6 x 16 bolt with washer and self-locking nut.
Mounting with OEM2 axle plate is only possible on frames with disc brake mount according to international standard (IS 1999/2000). If no disc brake is installed on the rear wheel, the Rohloff Speedbone/Monkey Bone can be dispensed with. Instead, a support bolt is screwed from the inside through the lower fastening eyelet of the disc brake (tightening torque: 8 Nm). When assembled in tandems, the Rohloff Speedbone/Monkey Bone is mandatory even without disc brake.
For safe OEM2 assembly with the support bolt, the fastening eyelets on the brake cylinder mount must be made in one piece with the dropout, comply with the international standard (IS 1999) and the material thickness of the dropouts and fastening eyelets must not be less than 6 mm.
A prerequisite for OEM2 mounting of the Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 with support bolt is the position of the mounting eyelets. If the rear fastening eyelet is located behind an imaginary vertical through the centre of the axle, OEM2 mounting with support bolt is permissible. If the rear fastening eyelet is positioned in front of an imaginary vertical through the centre of the axle, OEM2 mounting by means of a support bolt is not permitted.
- Caution:
- OEM2 mounting is only permitted on bicycle frames that have been approved for this by the frame manufacturer. Without the approval of the frame manufacturer, the use of this mounting variant is done at the user's own risk.
