The X-SYNC 2™ Eagle chainring is radically new. SRAM's engineers studied the performance and wear of thousands of X-SYNC™ chainrings. Chainrings of every size were subjected to every conceivable stress, both in the test lab and off-road. The goal was a chainring that increases the performance of the Eagle groupset under all operating conditions. The result: the chainring teeth are longer and shaped like a saw blade to perfectly engage the Eagle chain. The new chainring thus increases chain tension and efficiency when pedalling. At the same time, friction, chain noise and wear are reduced.

As usual the quality of SRAM is top-notch. Mounting the ring on the bike is super easy if you've got basic skills. I'll never be riding without an oval ring anymore. Where the plus-side of the oval ring is most noticeable is on climbs, you just don't feel the drop in power while pedaling, which strongly reduces the acid releases in the legs, It smoothes out the variation in the powercurve. Just be sure to count for the increased diameter of the oval ring vs normal ring. I would say to count two teeth more, so if your frame can handle 36T you can fit max 34T.
