The FH-RS400 Rear Hub by Shimano - Low-friction on road bikes

The Shimano FH-RS400 is a rear wheel hub without groupset integration for use on road bikes with classic rim brakes. Thanks to its finely machined, polished cup & cone bearings, ingenious seal and internal grease sleeve, it ensures long-lasting, low-friction operation. The hub body is made of aluminium, axle and freehub are made of steel. The FH-RS400 is available in black and silver to better match your bike.

Cup and Cone Bearings
Angular contact ball bearings of the cup & cone type are superior to sealed cartridge bearings in terms of load carrying capacity, as they distribute lateral and vertical forces better, and thus run particularly smoothly and last a long time. They are also easier to adjust, maintain and replace.
