The Shimano OT-SP41 Polymer shifter cable set for mountain bikes contains shift cables with polymer coating. Viewed under a microscope, this resembles tubes wrapped around the cable. It reduces the surface rubbing against the liner and contributes to better grease retention. This results in reduced shifting forces and noticeably faster gear changes.
The set also includes the SP41 cable housing, which has been pre-lubricated with special grease along its entire length. This grease has low friction, is very durable and stays pure for a long time.
