Shimano SLX crankset FC-M7000-11-B2 - Chainline shifted outwards by 3 mm

The Shimano SLX crankset FC-M7000-11-B2 differs from the FC-M7000-11-2 in the chainline. This is 3 mm further out on the B version, so that it is only compatible with frames with 148 mm over locknut dimension. Otherwise, however, the same design criteria were applied: The 24-34 and 26-36 gradations ensure the smallest possible gear jumps in the 11-speed system, which benefits an even cadence (Dyna-Sys11 technology). The Hollowtech II design with 24 mm axle firmly connected on the right side ensures a balanced ratio of stiffness and weight. The crank arms are made of aluminium, as are the chainrings.

Note: A chainline 3 mm further out is intended only for hubs with 148 mm over locknut dimension. Shimano B cranks therefore require special frame dimensions with the corresponding cassette position and front derailleur mounting position. Such frames are only compatible with E-Type and Direct Mount derailleurs.

Hollowtech II
Shimano Hollowtech II is a crank bottom bracket system designed to achieve an ideal ratio of stiffness, weight and rotational efficiency. It is based on an integration of the bottom bracket and the right crank arm and works with a 24 mm axle or bearing diameter, which has proven to be optimal in terms of stability. In many cases, the bearing cups are on the outside so that the load is better distributed. High-quality precision seals ensure a long service life.
