The Shimano SLX FC-M7130-1 cranks - efficiency and smooth running

The FC-M7130 SLX 12-speed crank from Shimano produces a chainline of 56.5 mm, which is 1.5 mm further out than the FC-M7120-1. That makes this model especially compatible for frames with 157 mm over locknut dimension, although use with 148 mm is also possible. The Q-factor is slightly wider: 181 mm instead of 178 mm. A direct-mount system is used, which significantly speeds up the process of changing the chainring. In combination with a single chainring that has Shimano Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology (not included), good chain retention, efficiency and low noise are guaranteed. Hollow-forged crank arms reduce weight while providing the most efficient power transmission. FC-M7130 cranks are designed for leisure riding and training, less so for racing.

Shimano Hollowtech II is a crank bottom bracket system designed to achieve an ideal ratio of stiffness, weight and rotational efficiency. It is based on an integration of the bottom bracket and the right crank arm and works with a 24 mm axle or bearing diameter, which has proven to be optimal in terms of stability. In many cases, the bearing cups are on the outside so that the load is better distributed. High-quality precision seals ensure a long service life.
