The Shimano Saint FC-M820 10-speed crankset with a 36-tooth chainring is compatible with 68mm and 73mm bottom bracket shells. For many years it has been the reference in downhill sport in terms of indestructibility and performance. With its steel axle, the strongest in the Shimano range, and its steel pedal inserts, it can withstand any ordeal. Weight was also a consideration here, as evidenced by the crank's balanced Hollowtech II construction. The FC-M820 can be optionally equipped with a special chain guide.

Shimano Hollowtech II is a crank bottom bracket system designed to achieve an ideal ratio of stiffness, weight and rotational efficiency. It is based on an integration of the bottom bracket and the right crank arm and works with a 24 mm axle or bearing diameter, which has proven to be optimal in terms of stability. In many cases, the bearing cups are on the outside so that the load is better distributed. High-quality precision seals ensure a long service life.
