Die Spitze der Stützhülse in die Bremsflüssigkeit getaucht, lässt sich die Hülse deutlich leichter in die Leitung treiben.

Eigentlich nur in Verbindung mit einem Schraubstock wirklich sinnvoll; der "Zangentrick" funktioniert nur beim Ablängen der Bremsleitungen mit einem scharfen Messer - zum Einschlagen der Stützhülsen aus der Hand heraus mit einer Zange nicht sicher zu handhaben!
Besser gleich die Leitung mit einer Zange allein festhalten!

In Kombination mit einer Rohrzange sind die Klemmbacken sind sehr hilfreich, wenn es nach dem Kürzen der Leitung darum geht, die Stützhülse in das Leitungsende einzuschlagen oder (wie bei Avid) einzuschrauben.
