The Ultegra BR-R8000 Rim Brake by Shimano - Slim design, more tyre clearance

The Shimano Ultegra BR-R8000 rim brake not only pleases with its elegant, slim design, it also creates room for wider tyres - up to 28C is possible. It has a stabiliser between the 51 mm long brake arms, which counteracts deformation. The redesigned dual pivot construction and SLR-EV technology provide superior braking power with optimum controllability. BR-R8000 comes with adjustable cartridge brake shoes, quick release, tyre protectors and brake pads for aluminium rims.

SLR-EV rim brakes from Shimano feature a symmetrical Dual Pivot design with short brake arms. These reduce friction in the joint area, which ensures better brake response and operation. Two bearings and a roller are used to make the joint area as efficient as possible, and to facilitate the dosage of braking force.
