The Specialzied Ambush II helmet for all-mountain use scores top marks in terms of adjustability and ventilation. You can adjust it to your head shape in several spots, including its height and at the back of the head, which allows for unrestricted vision and perfect integration of a goggle or glasses. Speaking of glasses: When you take a break, you can attach them to the rubber flaps, where they will stay wihtout wobbling. To keep your head cool on the trail and at any speed, the helmet has a sophisticated air duct system and a ventilation gap above the forehead. The integrated visor is also designed to contribute to ventilation. Despite all this, the Ambush II is pleasantly light thanks to the clever distribution of the EPS material. In addition, the MIPS intermediate layer, which absorbs the rotational forces acting on the head in the event of a fall, was designed as MIPS SL, which means that perforations increase breathability and save weight. The helmet is compatible with the ANGi crash sensor.

Technology:

MIPS
MIPS is the acronym for " Multi Directional Impact Protection System" and refers to a movable protective layer that is built into most Specialized helmets. This inlay is connected to the helmet via an elastomer and can glide in all directions by approx. 10 to 15 mm. This absorbs and reduces the rotational forces acting on the head during a fall. In the MIPS SL version of the S-Works Road and the Ambush helmets, Specialized also ensure that the MIPS layer does not have any disadvantages in terms of ventilation and weight.
