The Specialized S-Works Recon cycling shoes for gravel and cross-country use impress with performance and stiffness reminiscent of road cycling shoes. An internal I-Beam construction provides superior strength without additional bracing and therefore without additional weight. Reinforcements in the forefoot and midfoot area provide optimal support, to which the two BOA twist closures contribute decisively. The shoe is based on a 4 to 8 mm wider carbon base plate compared to previous models, which has a beneficial effect on the fit. The 2-bolt cleat mount has been revised in favour of maximum power transfer efficiency. You also benefit from an asymmetrical heel cup that supports the foot on the inside and has less material on the outside, so the ankle area is lower. Last but not least, the S-Works Recon has been equipped with proven Body Geometry features. A Varus wedge, arch support and pad help to bring the hips, knees and feet into an optimal line, improving pedalling and preventing injuries from overexertion.
