Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper EVO Carbon 29" Frameset
The Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper EVO Frameset for a completely personalized trail bike
The S-Works Stumpjumper EVO 29" carbon frame from Specialized with 150 mm travel forms the basis for an uncompromising trail bike. Its geometry can be fine-tuned even further than that of the " normal" Stumpjumper, because thanks to the adjustability of the dropouts via Horst-Link flip chips and the interchangeable headset cups, you can adapt it very precisely to your preferences and riding style. The entire suspension travel is available uphill and downhill without bouncing or losing speed. A flat head tube angle, a rather steep seat tube angle and small fork offset ensure excellent handling even in difficult terrain. Using Rider-First Engineered™ technology, the riding characteristics were specifically adjusted to each frame size. The SWAT™ opening in the down tube is even roomier on this Stumpjumper EVO than before, offering 650 ml of storage space. The frame comes with a Float X Factory shock from Fox Racing Shox.

Technology:
FACT™FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.
Stumpjumper EVO Trail Geometry
Stumpjumper EVO bikes from Specialized can be set up in six different ways so that the geometry fits your riding preferences. Three headset cups (Steep, Middle, Slack) allow the head tube angle to be varied by 2 degrees, and Horst-Link flip chips allow the bottom bracket to be raised by 7 mm. A damper link is also optionally available, which allows you to set it up as a mullet - with 29" front wheel and 27.5" rear wheel. Another important feature of the Stumpjumper EVO is the S-sizing - a frame size classification that takes into account not only your inner leg length, but also your technical riding ability. Here Specialized employs Sidearm Design, an asymmetric shock mount that contributes to the stiffness and agility of the bike without increasing its weight.
FSR
The Specialized FSR linkage design is based on a four-joint design with Horst Link in the chainstay, which separates the seat stay from the main pivot point of the rear triangle. This allows the pedal and brake force to be decoupled from the suspension, so that the compression and rebound are solely dependent on the nature of the terrain. This not only converts more energy into forward drive which is direct and without rocking, but also leads to more traction and thus more control. In addition, the FSR system can be fine-tuned to all the possible areas of applications and terrains.
Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered describes the design approach used by Specialized to precisely match each frame size to the target group. Simply put, smaller frames for smaller riders are built in a different way than larger frames for larger riders. This is done on the basis of performance parameters determined in practical tests, taking into account the forces acting on different areas of the bike when riders of different sizes ride it. Based on this analysis, the optimum tube dimensions and the appropriate carbon fibre covering for the respective frame size are determined. This way you can be sure that no matter what your height is, you will receive a bike that delivers optimal and controllable performance suited to your size.
SWAT™
SWAT is the acronym for " Storage, Water, Air, Tools" and describes a whole range of solutions that Specialized offers for space-saving accessories. There are SWAT elements that are built into Specialized frames from the get-go, such as the opening below the bottle cage on certain mountain and gravel bikes. And there are SWAT components which can be retrofitted to any wheel, e.g. the Conceal Carry Tool or the EMT Cage Mount Tools for SWAT bottle cages. The aim is to always use an existing, unused space to carry accessories such as drinking bottles, inner tubes, tools or CO2 cartridges, while being within easy reach, in a safe space and without impairing the aerodynamics. This often results in backpacks or bags being out of the question and emergency solutions such as spare tubes tied to the frame are something that everyone wants to avoid.
