Technology:
FACTFACT stands for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It's a holistic approach, primarily involving frames, but also found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles, etc. The starting point is always understanding the needs of riders and the ability to meet them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers occurs; the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play a crucial role. It's essential to find the right set-up for the given project and intended use. Often, it is necessary to differentiate between models at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity, and stability to be achieved.
S-Sizing
S-Sizing means a frame size classification that not only considers your inner leg length but also your riding characteristics. Moreover, Specialized utilizes what's known as the Sidearm design, an asymmetrical shock mount that contributes to the bike's stiffness and manoeuvrability without increasing weight. The Turbo Levo 3.0 shares geometry adjustability with the Stumpjumper EVO. The head tube angle can be varied through headset cups, and the bottom bracket can be raised or lowered using a Horst-Link flip chip, providing practically six different geometries to choose from. This way, you can ensure that the set-up exactly fits your preferences as a rider and suits your riding style.
Micro Tune
The remote button can be used to increase motor support and peak power in 10% increments. This results in smaller jumps than, for example, changing the mode from Trail to Turbo. This gives you certain advantages when riding in groups, as it allows you to better adapt. In addition, fine adjustments save battery power and thereby increase your riding range.
E-Bikes by Specialized
E-bikes by Specialized are designed in California and developed with Swiss technology. They follow the approach “It’s you, only faster,” which means that it feels like riding a “normal” bike without motor assistance, but you have at least twice as much power. Specialized e-bikes are characterised by a particularly quiet, smooth running electric drive. Thanks to two special freewheel bodies, the crankset and motor shaft are decoupled from each other in such a way that no additional pedalling resistance occurs when the motor is switched off (at speeds above 25 km/h). The battery of Specialized electric bikes is aesthetically and well-protected integrated into the down tube. An innovative Battery Management System (BMS) is used to maximize battery life and protect the cell structure. The bike communicates with the rider via the so-called Turbo Connect Unit (TCU), which can be connected to a Turbo Connect Display, third-party devices, and/or the Specialized Mission Control App via Bluetooth and ANT+. This offers additional options such as route planning, ride recording, or automatic capacity management.
