Technology:
FACT:FACT stands for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology," summarizing all the expertise Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It's a holistic approach that primarily concerns frames but is also found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles, etc. The process starts with understanding the needs of riders and the ability to meet them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins, and fabric layers takes place; in this process, the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers are crucial. Finding the right set-up for the project at hand and its intended use or area of application is key. Often, it is necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, the focus is on processing the material in such a way that the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity, and stability are achieved.
S-Sizing:
S-Sizing represents a frame size classification that considers not just your inner leg length but also your riding characteristics. Additionally, Specialized employs the so-called Sidearm Design, an asymmetric shock mount that contributes to the bike’s stiffness and agility without increasing weight. The Turbo Levo 3.0 shares geometry adjustability with the Stumpjumper EVO. Through headset cups, the head angle can be varied, and through a Horst-Link flip chip, the bottom bracket can be raised or lowered, effectively offering six different geometries to choose from. This way, you can ensure that the set-up perfectly matches your preferences as a rider and also suits your riding style.
Micro Tune:
The remote button allows for an increase in motor support and peak power in 10% increments. This results in smaller jumps than if you were to change the mode, e.g., from Trail to Turbo. This has certain advantages when riding in groups, as it allows for better adaptation. Additionally, fine adjustments save battery power and thus extend your riding range.
E-Bikes by Specialized:
E-Bikes by Specialized are designed in California and developed with Swiss technology. They follow the approach of " It’s you, only faster," which means that you have the feeling of riding a " normal" bicycle without motor assistance, yet with at least double the power. Specialized e-bikes are distinguished by a particularly quiet, smooth running electric drive. Thanks to two special freehub bodies, the crankset and motor shaft are decoupled from each other so that no additional pedaling resistance occurs when the motor is switched off (at speeds above 25 km/h). The battery of Specialized electric bikes is aesthetically and well-protected integrated into the down tube. An innovative Battery Management System (BMS) is utilized to maximize battery life and protect the cell structure. The bike communicates with the rider through the sogen. Turbo Connect Unit (TCU), which can be connected via Bluetooth and ANT+ with a Turbo Connect Display, with third-party devices and/or with the Specialized Mission Control App. This offers additional options such as route planning, route recording, or automatic capacity management.
