Bikes of BC
When bike enthusiasts get together, "normal people" often can't understand a word. It's pretty standard that you know every component of your bike by heart and can recite its specs at the drop of a hat. Complete bikes are nice, coherent, sensible - but we think that only a custom bike can truly awaken real passion.
Therefore, the most exciting bikes are those that are handpicked and built up, with a preceding six months of delivery time until everything is complete. It's precisely the anticipation and the DIY aspect that makes the bike what excites us in the end: a personal one-of-a-kind, not developed by you, but built! Technically and visually 100% tailored to you, your taste, and your riding style. It doesn't get any better!
Spotlight on the BIKES OF BC: the self-built wheels of our employees. Let yourself be inspired - and if you think it's time to be unreasonable, let's talk about it!
Tim's Factor OSTRO V.A.M.
Individual color scheme and highlights on the frame:
The Klenkes, an Aachen landmark at the bottom bracket, and our Fastrada logo on the head and top tube, to name just a couple.
The sexy SRAM Force (I'm also happy with the performance!) and the equally impressive Zipp 404 Firecrest - yes, I ride hookless and I'm happy with it ;) , make this build my absolute dream bike! The parts from Black Inc. and CeramicSpeed included in the delivery from Factor, as well as the 3D printed Prologo Nago saddle, which by the way is a real saddle recommendation from me, round everything off and make the bike a real rocket. For power measurement, I rely on the tried and tested and use my Favero Assioma pedals on the new bike too.
Thanks to Stephan for the design.
Thanks to Marcel for building it together.
Thanks to Factor Bikes and bc for the opportunity.
As you can see, I'm very thankful and happy. The first kilometers with the machine were insane and I look forward to the next rides with this piece of art.
Rainer's Santa Cruz Tallboy
Here in Aachen, the trails aren't overly demanding and tough rock gardens are rare, so I prefer riding a bike with less suspension travel. The suspension is sporty and firm, while the geometry has a true Enduro character and brings a lot of calmness to the bike. The little Fox Float DPS shock surprisingly squeezes a lot out of the VPP rear suspension, and the RockShox Lyrik Ultimate with 140mm at the front takes care of the rest. Unlike a real Enduro, this bike wants to be ridden more actively, but rewards you with an action-packed ride!
For brakes, Shimano was a given. An elegant XTR 4-piston variant works extremely powerful and reliable. The drivetrain is a mix of the mechanical SRAM groups XX1 and X01 Eagle. I love the crisp, defined shifting. A shoutout to my buddies at DT Swiss - of course, I rely on their wheels and have only had good experiences.
Like my colleague Kai, I also use the carbon handlebars from OneUp Components and can confirm their dampening properties. And even though many might be tired of seeing it: For the bike's color combination, I see Skinwall tires as a must, in this case, they're the classics Minion DHF and Minion DHR from Maxxis.
Basti's Factor Ostro Gravel V.A.M.
With the WH-RX880 wheels (virtually the GRX wheelset) mounted, it provides the perfect mix of weight, robustness, and rim width. For tires, I rely on Schwalbe G-One R in the front and G-One RS in the back.
For the 200 miles, I chose the PRO Discover saddle bag and top tube bag - after all, it's a race bike and not a campervan! This way, I can transport everything needed for an unsupported race."
Kai's bc Original Podsol
Although the Podsol is my first hardtail, it was intended to potentially replace my Enduro, so the nice sturdy wheels are a good base, on which I also put the slightly sturdier Highroller II with Double Down carcass at the back. The Assegai has already proven itself on other bikes at the front, so I didn't have to think twice. So far, I'm riding with tubes, but an upgrade here is absolutely not off the table.
In terms of design and performance, the XT was my favorite for both drive and brakes, even if I had to plan for a bit of a wait time.
One floor up, the Pike Ultimate with its silver decals fits beautifully into the overall picture and provides tons of grip and fun even on rougher terrain. The 130mm have surprisingly a lot of potential. The OneUp handlebar was the perfect addition for me, as the damping properties are really helpful especially on a hardtail.
Whether it's flowy or rugged trails, steep sections, or airtime, the Podsol has become the perfect companion for me!
Svenja's Look Gravel RS
My ultimate Race-Gravel Bike
The LOOK Gravel RS
My heart races when I think of my Race-Gravel Bike - the LOOK Gravel RS has completely won me over! The performance-oriented carbon frame with its sporty endurance geometry elevates my performance to a new level. It's a true masterpiece!
Every pedal stroke feels like I'm racing across gravel paths. An adrenaline rush like no other! This bike turned my vacation through the Balkan countries of Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro (Following the tracks of the Trans Balkan Race) into an unforgettable adventure. It supported me reliably and showed outstanding performance in every situation.
The best part? When necessary, I can mount a second set of wheels with road tires and enjoy both gravel and road biking with just one bike. This flexibility is unbeatable and perfect for future vacations! I couldn't ask for a better solution.
The LOOK Gravel RS fulfills all my dreams - from performance to design. It's the bike that brings my passion to life and inspires me for new adventures.
Marcel's Factor Ostro V.A.M.
True to a diva, it shines brightest when it matters. Give her a stage and she radiates in the spotlight like no other. In this case, the vivid blue high-gloss color plays the leading role. Additionally, a snake or leopard pattern in the front part and on the fork, enhanced with metallic flakes, brings a certain depth to the entire appearance.
What's great about the paint job, aside from the grand appearance, is the fact that it's never loud or annoying. When the spotlight isn't shining so bright, and you only take a passing glance at the Diva, she is, in the truest sense of the word, a little blue racing bike. Still a feast for the eyes, but not one that blinks, screams, and demands your undivided attention.
