Note from the manufacturer:

For maximum performance, it is recommended to increase the spring tension on Shimano rear derailleurs. These rear derailleurs are delivered with the lowest possible spring tension. However, there is another position for the spring on the cage which increases this tension. No modification is necessary for SRAM rear derailleurs, as they are already delivered with the ideal spring tension.
