The Super Steel e-bike chainring by absoluteBLACK for Shimano 12-speed chains, the so-called Hyperglide+ chains, is characterised by a particularly high degree of hardness and extra-long durability. It is made of CNC-milled, heat-treated premium steel and has a nitrocarburised surface, i.e. enriched with nitrogen and carbon. This is why it is many times harder than the standard chainrings often found on e-bikes. The Super Steel chainring thus proves to be particularly wear-resistant, which benefits the service life of the entire drivetrain. Especially with the high torques generated by e-bike motors, a hard, resistant chainring is an advantage.

Due to the material composition and processing of the Super Steel chainring, surface oxidation (rust) may occur on the teeth. This has no effect on the strength or performance of the chainring and can be easily rubbed off. For prevention, treatment with Silicone Spray or Chain Lube is recommended.
