Review: bc original Loamer Wheelset
The requirements a modern bike wheel has to meet couldn’t be more demanding. However, that doesn’t mean a wheelset has to cost a fortune…
In mountain biking, "loam" refers to fresh, loose forest soil, which is the equivalent to powder in winter sports. Fresh loam tracks are often also called “loamer,” and give mountain bikers an extra bit of grip along with an extra-wide smile. Simply put, having fun is what the bc original Loamer wheel does best! This light and reliable wheelset is available in both 27.5" and 29” sizes. It has been tried and tested on rough trails in Canada and on endless descents in the Himalayas, and invites playful riding with enough reserves to go at a harder pace.
RAVeL is named for a network of bike paths in the Walloon Region of Belgium, tracing along former railway lines and old towpaths. The name means "Réseau Autonome de Voies Lentes", and in English: the "independent network of slow routes.” The RAVeL network is a popular Gravel destination for our colleagues at bc, and thus became the inspiration for our Gravel wheelset. It gives you reliable performance on fast tours through streets, over long gravel roads to playful descents on single trails. A light all-rounder for your gravel bike.
